T-Mobile is today rolling out another Android 4.4.4 update, this time focusing on Sony's older flagship, the Xperia Z1. The patch will bring the year old smartphone completely up to date in terms of Google's mobile platform, and it could be the last Android update the Z1 sees. Sony has yet to confirm whether the handset will get Android L when it arrives, but it seems unlikely for the aging Xperia.
If you are not sure what to expect, Android 4.4.4 brings with it general enhancements to the recently released Android version 4.4.3. There will be no sweeping changes if you get this update, but it is worth downloading nonetheless as it irons out bugs and issues in the 4.4.3 patch. It is a small size so the download should be fairly quick, while it will be available over the air or you can always grab it manually from the Settings section of your Xperia Z1.
Needless to say, this is a T-Mobile specific roll out, so you will need to be rocking a Z1 on that carrier to download this update. Sony has also added some of its own changes, such as some cosmetic touches, enhancements to the Wi-Fi quality and also better support for network calling.
