If you are rocking a HTC One M7 or M8, a Samsung Galaxy S4, or an LG G3 on the T-Mobile network in the US, you have probably received an update from the Magenta Network. The fourth largest carrier in the United States has issued a surprise update for all of those devices, rolling out the same patch to that line up of current and last gen flagships.
The Uncarrier network says that there are not necessarily any new software features in the update, and indeed the small file size certainly reflects that. However, the company says it has tweaked security, made minor performance enhancements, and generally just squashed a few bugs on those handsets. As for the LG G3, that smartphone will also get improvements to its Wi-Fi calling, while the HTC One M8, M7, and Galaxy S4 will just get the above mentioned patches.
Galaxy S4 owners will also be getting a bump to Android 4.4.4, which will be replacing the current 4.4.2 build that is running on that hand set right now. The HTC One M7 is also getting a new Android version in 4.4.3, the HTC specific patch that also includes the minor enhancements found in 4.4.4.
